Energy Cybernetics Company Overview

Energy Cybernetics is a South African company that was established in 1998. During the past 12 years Energy Cybernetics has undertaken and completed projects in South Africa, United States, Botswana, Kenya, Angola, Zambia, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

To date we have conducted well over 200 industrial and commercial energy audits and over 220 Measurement and Verification and Monitoring and Evaluation projects.

Due to the nature of our work, Energy Cybernetics employs a multi-skilled and highly talented workforce totalling 43 people. This workforce includes 23 qualified engineers and 10 Technicians and Technologists based at our offices, one in Pretoria and one in Potchefstroom. We are BBBEE compliant with a level-3 status.


Professional Experience specific to the Barometer

Energy Cybernetics has been involved in the M&V of DSM projects since the inception of DSM in South Africa.  During the past 10 years we have measured and verified over 220 projects such as the Measurement and Verification of the Efficient Lighting Initiative funded by the World Bank during 2001 and 2002.

Energy Cybernetics serves on the Technical Committee of the Efficiency Valuation Office (EVO) responsible for revising the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) 2007 as well as on the CMVP certification board.

We have been and still are instrumental in the development of protocols and guidelines for the Measurement and Verification of Demand Side Management initiatives on a project level as well as national level.
